Additional Information: Cleeve Wood is an attractive mixed broadleaved woodland on the slope leading down to the banks of the River Avon. The woodland consists of two distinct areas. At the top of the wood, on flat or gently sloping ground, there is a one acre area of trees planted in 1980. These trees are now over thirty feet tall and growing well in the fertile lime-rich loamy soil. The trees include Oak, Lime, Cherry, Field Maple, Hawthorn and Rowan. The woodland on the lower slope leading down to the river is much older, with mainly mature Ash, Hawthorn and Willow. This area is steep in places, falling down to a footpath that runs along the riverbank. Access to the woodland is good. From the top there is access on the private road, passed Cleeve House, to a private gate at the top of the wood. The woodland can also be accessed from the public road that leads down to a parking area on the banks of the river. There are covenants that apply to this woodland
